Review by School Library Journal Review

PreS‘McGrath, of Sesame Street fame, offers a different sort of toilet-training book. Unlike other stories that follow an individual through the process, or factual books written for parents to discuss toilet teaching, Uh Oh! shows approximately 20 children, each accompanied by a sentence describing a potty experience. "Kuniko loves to flush." "Peter stands up like a big man." There's not much plot to speak of, but there's plenty of down-to-toddler level humor and springboards for discussion. The final page has a place for a child's photo with a sentence about using the potty "just like all my friends." The watercolor-and-ink cartoons are loaded with details, humor, and happy faces. The small size is just right for this audience. A welcome addition if books on this topic are requested.‘Sharon R. Pearce, San Antonio Public Library, TX (c) Copyright 2010.
